How To Get USA and Canada Traffic To Your Blog

Get USA and Canada Traffic
Blogging is one of the easiest and most satisfying ways to make money online. Unfortunately, while setting up a blog can take just a few minutes, driving traffic can be a real challenge.
To make matters more complicated, achieving a great deal of traffic is no guarantee of revenue as not all traffic generates money for you. Valuable traffic depends on the country from which you’re getting the highest traffic. If that country is poor, then chances are low you will generate revenue. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada are among the most targeted sources of blog traffic. Today, we’re going to learn that how can we get traffic USA and Canada traffic to your blog.

Tip 1. Target Keywords For USA and Canada Locations

The first tip is that you should target some keywords that are highly searched in the USA, the UK, and Canada. First you’ll need to do keyword research and select locations as “USA, UK and Canada.” Choose keywords you can realistically compete for and try to create quality and unique content focused on that keyword. You will also need to do proper on-page optimization to rank well in SERPs. Put your chosen keyword in the post title, permalink, meta description, and H2 headings, but avoid keyword stuffing your content at all costs. Once you’ve published your post, create some backlinks. Don’t turn to spam in your link building as it will most likely result in penalties against your blog.

Tip 2. Social Promotion in American and Canadian Communities

Social promotion is one of the most effective ways to generate profitable traffic to your blog! In order to drive American and Canadian traffic to your blog, target social media platforms popular in North America and join communities in these countries. Try to find relevant communities with your niche and avoid communities that don’t allow you to share links.

Tip 3. Engage With American and Canadian Blogs Within Your Niche

Look for blogs in Canada and the U.S. and engage with them by commenting on posts, joining discussions, and sharing ideas. You may even be able to secure a guest post that can be used to drive traffic back to your own blog.

Tip 4. Submit Your Blog to Directories

Directories are also useful as people use them to find interesting content online. There are also some US-based directories that can help you increase traffic. I suggest using the USA Listing Web Directory and searching for more blog directories on Google that fit within your niche. Most directories require that your blog be a certain age (usually at least six months) with quality, original content.

Tip 5. Advertise on Popular American Websites

Don’t overlook investing some money to generate traffic. You can use BuySellAds to find popular US sites and purchasing ad slots on websites and blogs. BuySellAds is very easy to use and a reliable way to advertise. You may even want to try your hand at Google AdWords.

Tip 6. Set US Geographic Target in Google Webmaster Tools

There is an additional option in Google Webmaster Tools that you can use to set your website’s geographical target area. It can be a little tricky to find:
  • Go to Webmaster Tools >> Site Dashboard
  • Click gear icon at the top-right corner and go to “Site Settings”
  • Tick the box “Target Users in” and choose “United States”
  • Click “Save”
  • It’s Done!
Do you have any other recommendations for targeting readers in the U.S. and Canada? Be sure to share with us in the comments!

Multi Screen Adaptation For Blogging

  screen devices

If you are writing blogs as a freelancer then the responsibility of how it is going to make its visual presentation will mostly be on the site owner that you are writing for. However, as a good blogger you should always keep in mind that your content is going to be read across many different types of devices, and you should be able to prepare it in order to meet the needs of these.
If you are writing a blog for your own website then you do have the responsibility of making sure that it is going to be mobile friendly and that the content will be easily viewed across multiple screens. To get the very best from your blog there are several factors  that you have to be aware of.
Types of devices and timing:
You have to know what the various devices are going to be used to reach your content and at the prime time that this usually takes place in a day. You also need to know which are the most important or most used devices and work down the list. You want to know which devices are used the most to access different types of content. Then it also helps to know how long the users are spending on their devices and where they’re paying the most attention. When you know the answers to all of these it is much easier to set up the strategy for the content for your blog.
Stay in tune with the changes:
How the Internet is being used is constantly changing and it is difficult for experts to keep up with the data that can assist us with our blogging. The platform and theme that you are using for your website will play an important role as to how easy or difficult it will be for you to ready your site for multi screen adaptation. Currently it is estimated that about 2.7 hours are spent by the general public reviewing social networks.
Using the right theme:
You can begin by checking out whether your theme is mobile friendly. You want your theme to be able to function with both desktop and multi screen devices. If you have a current theme that does not fit into this category and you don’t want to change over to a mobile theme, then you can always hire a professional to develop your site so it will be more mobile friendly. If you are using a word press theme then you may have an advantage here as you can use plug-ins that will help to convert your site to a mobile friendly atmosphere.
Go site responsive:
You will find by making your site responsive that it is going to react to the different devices that is being used to view it. A responsive site will present itself in one form on a desktop and in another form on a smart phone or tablet or laptop. Again this is going to come down to finding a responsive word press theme.
Watch your images and graphics:
When preparing your content for your blogs to ensure that they are going to present well be very careful with your images and graphics. The problem is that they will not display as well or will be too small to be effective, and they can also increase the load time which is something that mobile users will not tolerate. It is easier with your blogs if you use short concise paragraphs rather than large ones as the short version paragraphs are much easier to read on the various mobile devices.

Using WordPress Plug-Ins to Help You with Your Blog

wordpressOne of the favorite platforms for bloggers to use is the WordPress platform. This is because of its ease of use and the many options that it come with that allows one to really build out their blog. Once you have become familiar with WordPress you are soon going to discover that there are many WordPress plug-ins that you can use almost to the point where you will be overwhelmed and some are better than others.Some you have to be very cautious with as they can actually be detrimental to your site. Some of the plug-ins are free while others have to be purchased.
Marketing and presentation plug-ins
Many of the plug-ins are designed to help you with your marketing tactics or to allow a better presentation of your blog post. For better presentation you may want to look at word press plug-ins that allow you to use sliders. When you are using sliders you must also keep in mind that they have got to be mobile friendly. A good example of a plug-in that will meet this need and also give you some great animation is the Slider Revolution Response WordPress plug-in.
List building plug ins
If you are looking at building your list then there are a lot of plug-ins that can help you with this as well as you may have noted on other blogs there are  pop-up’s that entice readers to sign up. These pop-ups are usually generated with a WordPress plug-in, and one of the more favored ones is the Ninja Pop-ups.
Working enhancements
If you are looking for a plug-in that is going to help you work much easier with your layout for your blogs, then Visual Composer is one that you may want to rely on.
Social networking
If you are wanting to do a combination of your social network and how you interact with them then a plug-in for this would be the WordPress Social Stream.
Security
While many of the plug-ins so far that a been mentioned are to assist you to scale up your blog one of the most important factors that you have to keep in mind is the Security. Most every blogger relies on one type of security plug-in and there are many of these to choose from. Blogger sites can be quite vulnerable to hackers and spammers and there is nothing more frustrating than having your site hacked. One plug-in that you may want to take a look at is the All in One WordPress Security and Firewall.
These are just a few of the examples of the types of plug-ins that you can rely on to assist you with your blog website. You will no doubt find that once you start looking into plug-ins that you are going to spend several hours taking a look at the different ones that are being offered to you.
It is a really hard to restrain yourself from over using the plug-ins because they are so enticing. The problem is with plug-ins and having too many of them is that it can really be detrimental to your site in a variety of different ways, for example slowing it down. The key is to choose your plug-ins wisely and make sure that you always do the updates for them and that they are new plug-ins that are being updated.

How To Make Money With Your Email Subscribers List

Make Money With Email Subscribers List
Your subscriber list is as good as good. If you have a good number of subscribers, it’s time to use your newsletters to generate additional revenue for your blog. The more subscribers you have, the easier it will be for you to earn money. There are several ways to generate revenue from your subscribers list. Here are some of my favorites.

 1. Develop and Sell Products

Do you have expertise in developing the most useful products like Apps and Themes? Then this section can be helpful for you. First of all, develop any amazing product which must be liked by your subscribers. Then send them an email regarding to your new product. Make the email look like fancy by customizing it. Write and Explain the importance and features of your product as more as you can. In simple words, make your email like that your readers or subscribers should love it and buy it from you. You can sell that product to people as more as you can and for this it requires the good number of email list. Even you can tell your subscribers about your developing skills and they could hire you personally to develop any brand.

2. Recommend Products That You’re Using

Are you using any paid or free products that can should be awesome with great features and also can help your subscribers then recommend them those products which you’re using. Once again, you need to create the attractive email which should be lovely in look and attract the subscribers mind to buy the product. Here you can send them the affiliate link of that product as a download or buy link and it must important that product that you’re sharing must have the affiliate system. So, when the recommending product email is ready then send them all but don’t forget to insert the affiliate link as buy link or button. Now, if someone purchase that item through your link then you’ll get the commission of it from the seller of that product.

3.  Sell an Ad Space In Your Newsletter

So, you update your brand regularly and you also send the updates about them to your email subscribers then this method can work for you. Customize the newsletter email and insert the ad space unit there like banner [Advertise Here]. Before that, you’ve to create a page in your brand about the ad space banner in the newsletter email. Create the descriptive page that how many subscribers you have, do they get updates regularly, how much the banner will cost for one month, how it can be helpful for the advertiser and more as you can. Then, you’ve to create the ad space in newsletter email and also add link on it to the page that you’ve created so that your readers also get known and they could also advertise there. Simply, After some days, you will start receiving the sales that someone wants to purchase that ad slot in newsletter.

4. Send Paid Emails To Your Subscribers

If possible, you can send the paid emails to your email subscribers and can earn good amount from it. Make an announcement on your blog that if someone wants to promote his/her brand then he/she can send the custom paid email to your email subscribers. That email should contain the relevant tool, product, site or blog to your niche in which your subscribers should be interested. Don’t send the irrelevant paid emails that are not liked by your subscribers because after that they can unsubscribe you. Here you’ve to ask the brand owner for a good and reasonable price for that one email. Don’t send a lot of paid emails because your readers can be irritated and you should take care of them instead of annoying them. I recommend to send only one paid email in a week that is a better choice.

5. Monetize “Thank You” Redirecting Page

Most of the webmasters, bloggers and custom site owners usually redirect their new readers to a thank you page after completing the subscription. That thank you page consists of that what the new readers will receive in the upcoming emails and more detail is listed there. Here is the idea to monetize that thank you page by which you can make money from your every new subscriber. First one is the simple, which is showing the advertisement on your thank you page and that advertisement should pay you for the impressions because mostly, no one click on that ad and “Paid Per Click” network can be worst here. After that, here is the second method. In this method, you can write something about the affiliate products and suggest your new readers to buy that. Tell them a real story behind that product that should be happened with you in previous and this can get you more sales. Make sure to put the affiliate link on “Buy or Download” button that is the main thing and you’ll get the commission of that sale which is done through your affiliate link.

How To Get First Position In Google Search Results

First Position In Google Search ResultsEveryone wants their website to rank #1 on Google for their chosen keywords. Of course, you probably already know it’s no simple feat. Unless you have a very specialized niche site with very low competition, ranking high on Google means putting in months of hard work. Here’s how to do it.

Experience

If you’re regular reader here then you probably know that few days ago, we discuss that how can we offer giveaways on blogs. And that was ranked on the second page of search results.

                                 So, you can look in the above image that same post is on the first position. And Yeah! I’m going to share the tips which I’ve tried. Some people say that I’d logged in the Google account and your own post will appear first. Yes, I agree with them that when you’re logged in the Google account then Google shows our posts first but here I’d logged out, cleared cookies and even I used Mozilla firefox browser to search because Google Chrome is my default browser.
So below I’m going to share these tips about bringing a blog post on the first position. Read them carefully and also try them. I’m sure you’ll get benefit from it.

1. Create Unique, Lengthy and Loved Content

In the blogosphere world, content matters a lot. This is extremely important to create the unique and most loved content for your blog and readers. The unique content is always loved the Google and it’s algorithms that can help in getting high SERPs. If you write the lengthy content for your blog then surely it will be ranked higher in search results because Google ranks the quality content first. Don’t care for Google ranking only, you should take care that what your readers like. Ask them and give them what they want from you. This will help in increasing the relationship between your blog and readers.

2. Completely SEO Optimize Your Post

You have to do the on-page SEO for your blog post. There are many things in optimizing a post but I’ll explain these all in a short. First, You’ve to choose the most searched keyword for your post title. I mean do the keyword research for post title. Optimize images in your post by the use of ALT and Title Attributes. Create short Permalink of your post which may have the main keywords only. Insert the good meta description for your postImprove the internal linking in your article. Avoid keyword density and keyword stuffing. In the last, insert the multiple keywords in your post. You can insert multiple keywords in your post like first in the post title, second in permalink, third in meta description, in the content and also in the comment area.

3. Create Backlinks For Your Post

So this is the off-page SEO and here you’ve to build some backlinks for the post which you want to bring on the top. I strongly recommend to do the commenting on CommentLuv enabled blogs. But before commenting, make sure that the blog on which you’re commenting is having the good rank and domain authority. Also make sure that the post on which you’re commenting is relevant with you post. For the quick result, I’ll recommend to do the guest posting in which you’ll get the dofollow backlink to your post and that will really helps a lot.

4. Do The Social Promotion

Social Promotion also helps in bringing a post in the first position on Google search results. You can easily share post in some groups on Facebook and believe me it works like a charm. This will not only help in getting higher SERP but also in increasing the visitors of your blog. Don’t always use Facebook to do social promotion, there are also other social sites like Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and StumbleUpon. After publishing post I usually share my post on all the above mentioned social sites.

5. Avoid Copying Content

This is the worst habit of many bloggers that they copy the others work. Even in the beginning of blogging, I also did this mistake and really my all the efforts wasted. You should know that Google has an algorithm named Google Panda. It detects those blogs/sites which are stealing content from other sites and deindex that page from Google. If you’re using Blogger then automatically that post will be deleted. It is highly recommended to build the own content instead of copying others work.

Final Words

So these were some tips which I use to rank my posts. I hope these will help you in gaining organic traffic. If you’ve more tips then please do share with us. Any problem ? Feel free to ask in the comments area. Don’t forget to join us and leaving your feedback. Take Care!

6 Things To Do When You Can Not Update The Blog

What To Do When You Can't Update Blog
Updating the blog regularly is one of the most important which every blogger does. Some of them update their blogs regularly and they’re growing very fast in the blogosphere while others update their blogs after the fixed days, one, two or more than this and there are also some blogs which are being updated after months and years. In my opinion, they are specially official blogs of any popular site/brand like Gmail Blog, Blogger Buzz and more. These blogs are updated only when they release the new feature or they wanna notify their users for any news. Well, we’re humans and we don’t know what will happen in future. Sometimes, suddenly an incident happens by which bloggers are unable to update their blogs and I think you know that if no blog update then loose of traffic and earning. This post is going to be helpful for those who’re facing this kind of issue like given the incident example or in simple words, those who can’t update their blog because here I’m going to give some exciting tips which you can do to go the traffic and earning of your blog in straight line or it might goes up.

1. Hire Authors

This is the first tip which will require some investment and it is that you can hire the content creators or authors to write the perfect content which will be according to the niche of your blog. You should hire the professional content writers because they will provide the unique, quality and search engine friendly content which will be even better for your blog. The simple way to find the authors is that first visit some professional blogs in your niche and check that do they provide content service. Simply, contact them. Another method is that, there are also some official companies who provide content for blogs and websites and you can also hire them.

2. Ask People To Comment On Your Blog Posts

This might look awkward to you that what is the relation between commenting and traffic without updating blog. Well, let me tell you then. Actually, The comment is also indexed in Google as the main content of the webpage and whenever someone comments on your blog then Google get pinged about that and soon Google indexed that comment so. So, increasing the comments will let Google know that the blog is up to date and it the posts might rank higher in Google because each commentator give the unique and unheard comment and I think you know that if we update the blog with most unique Content then it ranks higher.
Note : You should keep this point in mind that, you might get spam and bad comments with the links which are harmful for the blog. Try to enable the spam comments detector and also enable comment approval then only approve those comments which are not spam, no off-topic [should be related to the topic of the post] and it should be without out going links.

3. Social Promotion – Socialize Old and New Content

This is the most powerful method which doesn’t only keeps the traffic graph in straight line but it also helps to goes up. You should share the old posts but quality posts which may have unique ideas. So, share them on your each profile where you should be connected with great number of people. Sharing in the groups, communication and in other discussion is a great but you should share with a style which may attract people. The style is that it should have creative and catchy heading and message and also implement the high quality and graphic image with that which can help in catching more people.

4. Increase Backlinks

Increasing the backlinks is the daily work of SEO and Blogging which doesn’t only helps to rank higher in Google but it also increase the traffic and the relationship between your blog and where you’ve published comment. So, in this tip, I’m recommending you to increase the backlinks. You should comment on some popular blogs which may have high traffic and a lot of readers, comment with the related topic of the post and get engaged with the readers there. One thing you should remember that this era is for increasing backlinks not for commenting on other blogs so you should comment on those blogs which may have enabled CommentLuv form and it helps to get a quick backlink.

5. Solve Others Issues On Blogs, Groups and Communications

I think you might spend about an hour online and it’s not enough to write the new content or because of less time you can’t update blog. So, if yes then this and above tips are perfect for you. In this passage, I’m guiding you that you should join some public places where people should ask questions related to your niche and just easily answer then if you can. You might have seen on pro blogs that people usually bark for the help there is no one to listen. Just go there and help them. By this, those people will think you’re a great person and they will follow you. Just help them in a good manner by which you may won their hearts. Also tell them the URL of your blog and ask them to visit daily and become regular reader there. Serving the people for the sake of humanity also comes in this point.

6. Improve Ranking In Search Engines

If you think that you can do this with the time you’ve then must do this. I’m talking about improving the ranking in search engines and don’t take it wrong. Increasing the appearance in search results is always great and most needed by every blogger. No doubt, this will increase the traffic but it will be the quality traffic which can increase the earnings rapidly. You should rank the old posts which should have high search monthly. Make use of Google Keyword Planner to know that how many times the keyword in searched in Google monthly and make a list of some popular and most searched keywords which you’ll have to rank in the gap of no update in blog. Read one of my article on “get first position in Google search” and also “Off-page and On-Page SEO Tips For High Search Ranking” to be rich in being first on Google and driving the most organic traffic.

Speed Up Blog Using Conditional Tags In Blogger

Boost Blog Speed
Reducing the loading time of a blog is known as one of the most important factor in blogging because it matters a lot. If you blog is too lazy to load completely then you can loose your blog readers, traffic, earning and also getting disapproval from big advertising companies like Google AdSense and BuySellAds. There are many ways to speed up your blog like compressing the CSS and JavaScript,externally hosting CSS, removing unnecessary elements from your blog and many more but today, in this post, I’m going to give special tip for bloggers users only by which we can easily speed up blog or improve loading time of blog.

How It Works : Speed Up Blog Using Conditional Tags

Before we get started to the tutorial, I would like to clear that how this will work. You might know, or not know that what are conditional tags? Let me explain it for those who don’t know about that. These are special Blogger XML tags which are used in blogger templates. Basically, You might have heard about If Else statements in JavaScript so these conditional tags are mostly similar to them. Conditional tags will help us to load any kind of coding in specific pages or posts. Mostly, blogger template developers put the whole css of template in <b:skin> tag which is fine but you know, that CSS loads in every webpage of our blog. There can be some elements like author bio box, related posts widget, social sharing button and many more which load in posts and pages only then why we should allow these element’s CSS to load in every page? We’ll just setup conditional tags which will load the coding when it’s necessary. Got it?

Who Can Properly Speed Up Blog With Conditional Tags?

In order to speed up blog using conditional tags in blogger, a person needs to have basic knowledge of web designing including CSS and JavaScript. Here, we’re going to play with coding of blog’s template so if you’ve not ever touched the coding of blogger template then you might not be able to do this. It is also important that a person should know the each coding of his blog template.

Caution

Before doing any step, make sure you’ve complete backup of your blog and template otherwise a single mistake can ruin the design of your blog. So, take a backup first and let’s start improving speed of blog. Secondly, you should be careful in reading this article and doing customization in your template.

Tutorial

1. Load Elements in Homepage, Label, Archive, Pagination Pages

<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType != &quot;item&quot;’>
<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType != &quot;static_page&quot;’>
</b:if>
</b:if>
First of all, we’re going to load the elements in homepage, labels pages, archive pages, next previous pagination pages. The above conditional tags will help us to load elements in above mentioned pages. Copy the above code and paste it above </head>.  Now here you’ve to decide yourself that elements you would like to load in these pages. Let me give you tip, check these pages in your blog and note those elements which only appear in these pages. They can be Auto Read More Script, Read More button, Custom CSS of Posts which appear on these pages, pagination of blog and more. So, you’ve to note those things and copy their CSS and JavaScript only and put that those coding between the above given coding.

2. Load Elements in Homepage Only

<b:if cond=’data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl’>
</b:if>
Secondly, we’re going to load elements in homepage only. As we did in previous step, you can analyze the homepage of your blog and note those elements which only appear in homepage. Copy the above code and paste it above </head>. The elements which appear in homepage only can be Featured Posts Widget, Posts By Specific Labels, Homepage Sign Up Box, Homepage Ad Section and many more. Just note those elements, copy their CSS and JavaScript and put it between the above given conditional tags.

3. Load Elements in Posts Only

<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType == &quot;item&quot;’>
</b:if>
So, we’re in the third step and in this step we’re going to load elements in posts only. Again, copy the above code and put it above </head>. After that, check the post page of your blog and note those elements which only load in posts only. In my point of view, they can be social sharing widget, related posts widget, author bio widget and many more so copy their CSS and JavaScript and paste them between the above give code.

4. Load Elements in Post and Pages

<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType == &quot;item&quot;’>
<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType == &quot;static_page&quot;’>
</b:if>
</b:if>
This is the fourth and last step in which we’re going to set elements which will load in post and pages only. So, paste the above given code above </head>. Start analyzing the post and page areas and note those things which load in these pages only. They can be post meta css in which posted by, date, filled under and comments can come. You can also think about sidebar widgets, blockquote, bullet and numbered list. Finally, put the CSS and JavaScript coding of those elements between the above given coding and save it.

Final Words

So friends, that’s how we can speed up blog using conditional tags in blogger and that works like charm. While setting elements to load in specific areas, you should be sure that they should load in the given areas and pages only otherwise in some areas your blog design can be messed up. That’s why I told to be careful, that’s just easy and awesome if you do the things correctly. I hope this article is going to helpful in improving load time of blog and also share this article with your friends. Take a lot of care!

How To Write Content For People And Search Engine

How to Write Content for People and Search Engine

Should I write for Readers?

Should I write for Search Engines?

Have you ever asked these questions while writing an article for your blog? If yes, you're not alone. Bloggers often ask these questions to themselves. Some even argue that you should focus on people rather than search engines. Focusing on people is a good thing, but is it all right to negate the search engine.

I'd say you should focus on both: People and Search Engines.

Why?

The answer is simple, Let's say you write your articles for people, Your blog visitors will love reading your content. As a result your blog visitors will turn into loyal subscribers or customers but for that to happen you need blog traffic which bring new visitors.

Blog traffic can be gained through SEO and Marketing. Apart from marketing search engine optimization(SEO) plays an important role to generate organic traffic to your blog.

So, We need to focus on both to Create an Epic Blog Post.

Okay, Let's not delay any further, Today we're going to learn How to write engaging content for people and optimize it for search engines.

How To Write Content For People And Search Engine

Table of contents

How To Write Content For People?

Think Before You Write

you need to think hard about the goal of your article:

  • Who are you writing for?
  • What are you trying to tell your readers?
  • What do they need to know?
  • What do you want them to do?
  • What makes your blog worth reading?
There are a thousand articles out there about how to write blog content, but do you read each one of them? Online readers don’t spend their time on reading a blog which is full of crap – everyone wants to read unique useful content.

Don’t be yet another person to write the same thing. 90% of the online people don’t want to read yet another ordinary posts.

They want unique and unusual content that makes them to read your blog without skimming even a word.

Write Naturally

The problem with creating content merely for search engines is that it can make it feel completely unnatural. If you are trying to stuff a keyword into every sentence, paragraph and headline, the repetition will turn readers off quickly.

Therefore your first objective should be to write in a way that sounds natural. Write like you would talk to a friend. Talk to your readers as if they are sitting in your couch.

If your readers like who you are and the way you are talking to them, it is more likely they will come back.

Use Subheads

A blog post without subheads is “void”

I’ve never read a killer article without having sub heads. Sub headings are what makes your blog post look more appealing, and by breaking your content into sub heads – you can easily grab online readers attention.

Why using subheads is a MUST?

Here are few reasons..

  • Makes it easy to skim the post
  • Easy to make a relevant comment on the post (without actually reading the entire post ;))
  • Subheads give a sexy look to the entire post (crafting is the key to make any post go viral, agree?)
No matter either you’re writing a How to post or a list post – subheads can easily be used.

See, this post is the best example. This is actually a How to post, still I’m using subheads, because I know their importance.

Write Longer/Detailed Posts

Since you want to avoid boring your reader with too much information, it is a good idea to write only small pieces of content, right? Short, fluffy articles for easy consumption, correct?

Wrong.

It’s true that readers like short pieces of content because they are easier to read. However, what they cherish even more are long-form articles.

98% of the popular posts are detailed and lengthy. Though they are lengthy, the quality is maintained from beginning to end. Try to write detailed articles for your blog and that’s the best way to create popular posts, but never make your readers feeling sleepy with your writing ;)

Format Your Article

Make your blog posts easy to skim.

There’s a hard truth in blogging, most online people don’t read word to word.

How can you make it easy for the readers to easily skim through your posts?

  • Write clear and concise sentences
  • Keep paragraphs short and tight
  • Use lots of bullet points, bold letters, and deep sub heads
This will create curiosity to make them read you entire copy.

So always write for the web audience, make use of short paragraphs, appealing images, relevant linking etc to quickly grab their attention.

Finally Proofread

Always, This is a MUST, Proofread every piece of content several times.

While proofreading look out for:

  • Typos and misspellings (a good tip here is to read backwards! You’ll go much more slowly, focussing on every individual word).
  • Clumsy sentences and confusing or misleading phrasing (try reading your work aloud).
  • Remove the Unnecessary words.
Nicely done. Now you should have a well-crafted, well-structured article with a killer headline that delivers massive value and shows off your pleasant personality. More than enough to make potential readers swoon.

How To Optimize Your Blog Post For Search Engine?

Blog Post Title

We should make sure we are using targeted keywords or phrase towards the beginning of Title tag. Do not repeat the same keyword in title tag with the intension to get better rankings on Google, Yahoo and Bing and limit the Title Characters length to 65 Characters only with spaces.

Post Permalink Structure

Using a clean Parmalink structure can help in search ranking.

Make sure your Post parmalink structure should:

  • Use targeted keywords towards the beginning of blog post URL
  • Avoid using special characters, symbols, brackets, comma’s etc as part of your post URL.
  • Be using dashes to differentiate two strings in URL structure.
  • Never change your post permalink once the post is published.

Post Meta Description

You should create a meta description tag which work as a summary for your blog post. You can see it in the search results underneath the main link. Definitely include the main keyword here.

You should limit meta description length to 160 characters including spaces. You should write user friendly meta description tags for better Click Through Rate (CTR) in search engines.

As for WordPress you can use SEO plugins to add meta description and for Blogspot blogs you can use search description to add meta description.

Optimize Image For Better Search Ranking

Images can generate a TON of traffic to your blog from search engines like Google Images.

If you want to generate more traffic through images, you must optimize your images by using the following tips:

  •  ALT Tag: A good practice for the ALT tag is to keep your alt tags short but descriptive. you can fill your alt tags with relevant keywords, at the same time try to make it describe the image.
  •  Compress Images: Images can make your page heavy. You know page load times matter for SEO, right? So, to ensure that your images don’t affect your fast load times, make the image file size as small as possible (without sacrificing quality, of course). you can use image compressor likePunyPNG.
  •  File Name: Just like keywords are important in post url, Including rich Keywords in image url can help in better image ranking. Use descriptive filenames in images with keywords separated by “-” (hyphen). For example, “how-to-protect-your-wordpress-site.png”.

Use Headings Tags

Didn’t I already say that? Yes, however, headings are important not only for readability, but also for SEO purposes. They help Google grasp the topic of your content (especially for long posts) and can therefore help with your ranking.

You should use heading tags like h2, h3 and h4 etc to highlight various headings, sub-headings and important points. Also, don’t repeat H2 or H3 tags too many times, as it is considered as negative SEO practice.

Interlink To Relevant Posts

When we write a new post, it’s always a good idea to link back to old relevant posts so that readers will find the old posts, and search engines will re-crawl the old blog posts.

Interlinking of blog posts naturally will help your blog readers spend more time on your blog. While linking out to your own blog pages, you should use keyword rich anchor text as that will help the linking posts perform better on Google and other search engines for their targeted anchor texts.

Linking Out To External Websites

Apart from linking to your own blog posts, it is a great idea to link out to external websites if you feel addition of this links will help your blog readers find more and relevant information about the topic you are currently blogging about.

When you mention another blogger or article in your blog post, include a link to the information you are referencing. Not only is it good blogging etiquette, but you may also get lucky and receive a link back.

Quality links are a valuable commodity for any site looking to rank higher in search engine results pages.

Final Words

When creating content, always put the needs of your readers first and Google’s needs second. While organic traffic from search engines is something to be desired, your first goal should be to create excellent content, which your readers will love.

Because your readers are the one who will interact with you and share your content around the world, or turn into potential customers, not the search engine. ;)
